SUMMARY:Brisbane Networking - Garth Borgelt FAIEA will present 'Busy Being Busy - The curse of modern organisations'
LOCATION:Level 7 Waterfront Place\, 1 Eagle Street\, Brisbane 4000
DESCRIPTION:https://aiea.org.au/event-3749750\n\n\n\n \n Busy being Busy\n\n The downside of living and working in the digital age is the expectation of immediacy – businesses are expected to provide immediate communication\, produce faster results\, operate in shorter time frames and be more profitable with fewer resources.\n At the same time\, executives and employees have to manage risks\, be more safety and environmentally conscious\, be compliant with increasing regulations and standards and be innovative while still leading\, managing and interacting with others professionally. They are busy from the time they open their eyes until they close them at night.\n The by-product of all of this busyness is growing instances of employee and work-related stress. The mental health and social impact of such stress on employees and their families is incalculable but the associated financial cost in Australia alone is estimated at more than $18 billion dollars per year.\n In all their busyness\, organisations have been focused on the technical and production side of work\, to the detriment of the organisational side which is needed to support all work and employee behaviour.\n This presentation will challenge conventional thinking and introduce some new paradigms to help companies think about redressing the imbalance between its organisational and production needs and how to reduce work-related stress and create more efficiency so that they can continue to focus on production and productivity - but in a healthier way.\n About Garth\n Garth Borgelt (MBA\, FAICD\, FAIEA) is a former C-Level executive of long-standing and is now an experienced international consultant who specialises in leadership\, production and organisational effectiveness. He is part of a globally recognised team of specialists who assist businesses in making transformational changes and paradigm shifts so that they can better survive and thrive in today’s fast-paced and challenging environment.\n Garth is a keen advocate of social justice and is involved in numerous charity and community service activities.\n Proudly Sponsored by HopgoodGanim Lawyers\n \n\n
